Getting Here from There
Anna Maria Island is located 40 miles south of Tampa and seven miles west of Bradenton. U.S. State Road 64 can access it, over the Manatee Avenue Bridge; State Road 684 over the Cortez Bridge or A third Bridge offers access from Longboat Key to the island. Anna Maria Island is located within minutes from Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport. Most visitors to the island arrive by car while others prefer to take a leisurely cruise and then stop at one of the island’s many pier restaurants or marinas.

Key Royale
Included in the city limits is the adjacent bayside island of Key Royale, formerly known as School Key. It was uninhabited until 1960 when a bridge was built joining it to the Holmes Beach section of Anna Maria Island and development then began.
